My Dad, Roy Orbison, loved the Guitar Center too. He used to have them shut it down so he could walk around in peace. They would just leave him alone to look at everything in the store. He would point at things he wanted and the manager would drive the stuff out to our house and set it up.

When Roy died the whole store was sad and they mounted a plaque in his honor on the wall by the front door.

I always loved them for that. They still treat me like a celebrity when I’m there.

There is a great “Walk of Fame” at the store with handprints of many of the best guitarists in cement that is worth seeing if you are ever driving by.
